Located on a gated private gravel driveway, Cliffside Cabin is an authentic log cabin situated on a cliff overlooking the south fork of the Shenandoah River. Built in 1950, our cabin is located approximately 7 miles south of Front Royal, Virginia, also known as the “Canoe Capital of Virginia.” The cabin is three miles from the Shenandoah State Park and five miles from the northern entrance of the Skyline Drive of the Shenandoah National Park.
The breathtaking view of the river from the front porch is only enhanced by the beauty of the Massanutten Mountains in the distance. The Front Royal area is rich in history and offers many unique and varied year round recreational and leisure activities. Locally, the warmer weather invites canoeing, tubing, kayaking, hiking, horseback riding, fishing, and golf while the cooler temperatures yield opportunities for skiing, wine tasting, antiquing, and site-seeing.
• Minimum two night stay
• Minimum three night requirement for following holiday weekends: Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s
• Week rentals can not be Saturday to Saturday
• Check-in: anytime after 3pm
• Check-out: by 11am
• Based upon availability, early and/or late check out can be arranged
• Firewood provided from Sept 1 to April 1 for one fire per night of your stay
• Pet-friendly with an additional deposit of $65 per pet per stay
• Unless previously confirmed, rates are subject to change without notice
• Outside camping is not allowed without written approval from the property manager
• Maximum number of overnight guests on the property is 6 people due to county health department regulations
• Our cabin is in the woods and you may encounter many types of wildlife and insects during your visit. We will not refund any payment due to these encounters outside or inside the cabin. Our cabin is serviced on a regular basis by an exterminator. If you are uncomfortable with this situation and choose to cancel your reservation upon the receipt of this notice, a full refund will be made. Please note our manager’s cancellation policy: 100% refund if canceled at least 30 days before arrival date.
